Today we are able to confirm that the leading international publisher, BLOOMSBURY, will publish Snuff: Real Death and Screen Media. We are delighted with this result, and cannot wait to work with the company further. Expect publication some time in 2015.
Let's go to work! Many of us within cult film studies have been waiting anxiously for the publication of the long-awaited Cine-Excess E-Journal. Published today, it includes a host of great articles as well as a terrific report on our conference, The Cultural Mythology of the Snuff Movie (Bournemouth University, November 2012), by Mark Adams (Brunel University). The free E-Journal can be accessed here, and Mark's conference report here. Welcome one and all to the brand new www.snuffmovie.co.uk.
Following the world's first academic conference to exclusively consider real death on screen, the organisers of The Cultural Mythology of the Snuff Movie (Bournemouth University, Nov 2012) have now embarked on a book project that features extended versions of some of the papers presented at the event, as well as some additional contributions. This website will feature all information of the book's progress (including the as-yet-to-be-announced publisher), as well as various commentaries on all things snuff. Thank you for your interest, and please keep checking back for further updates. The editors: Neil, Shaun, Johnny and Tom. |
